The Assembly House in Norwich is serving up an egg-stra special treat this April with a brand-new Easter-themed Afternoon Tea.
And in true Norfolk style, the name—Hare Comes Easter!—is a playful nod to the local accent, where ‘hare’ often sounds just like ‘here’!
Running from 1st to 21st April, this seasonal tea is packed with springtime flavours, fun Easter-inspired treats, and even a tribute to our Suffolk neighbours—adorable pink sheep biscuits inspired by the famous dyed sheep of Latitude Festival!
The menu features a delightful selection of dainty finger sandwiches, savoury treats including a Coronation chicken bridge roll and a classic prawn Marie Rose vol-au-vent, and The Assembly House’s legendary fruit and cheese scones—served with butter or clotted cream and jam.
But it’s the sweet treats that truly steal the show, with an array of delicious creations, including:
Duck Egg Delight – A handmade blue chocolate egg filled with passionfruit ganache
Berry Bunny Bliss – An Easter Eton Mess with a biscuit bunny
Lambkin’s Tropical Treat – A pink coconut, pineapple, and lime shortbread sandwich biscuit inspired by Latitude’s festival sheep
Keep Calm and Carrot On Cupcake – A light carrot cake with cinnamon and orange zest, topped with velvety cream cheese frosting, pecans, and a sugar carrot
Hoppy Easter Raspberry Macaron – A raspberry macaron with creamy pistachio buttercream and a tangy raspberry jam centre
Gateau Hop-era – A decadent chocolate and salted caramel cake with a golden Flake
To accompany these treats, guests can indulge in a Bailey’s and Cream Easter Egg Cocktail (£8.95) or a Chocolate Easter Egg Thick Shake (£6.95), piled high with Mini Eggs, chocolate cream, and a Flake.
The Hare Comes Easter! Afternoon Tea is priced at £32.50 per adult and £18.95 per child, with dietary adaptations available upon request. Full menus and booking details can be found at www.assemblyhousenorwich.co.uk/afternoon-tea/menus.
