For anyone thinking about how to keep children entertained, Castle Quarter has just announced a sporty programme of free summer events throughout August, as it gets set to celebrate the Paris Olympics.
Norwich’s leading social, leisure and lifestyle destination is offering visitors a packed programme of free activities for summer 2024, helping to keep everyone entertained, boredom at bay and save money.
Castle Quarter’s White Lion Square area (outside Boots on the ground floor) will be the focal point for the mini-Olympics stadium, where all sporty activities will take place. There will be hurdles, foam archery, badminton and basketball and other sports and games with a fun twist, including footpool; a mash up between football and pool. A surf simulator will also be in the centre on 15th August, with the chance to catch waves while staying dry.
Gemma Hyde is Castle Quarter’s Marketing and Administration Manager and says, “To mark the Paris Olympics, we’re giving all our visitors the chance to join in and have a go at lots of different track and field events this August. Try something new and you might just discover a new sporting talent. We always love seeing the centre busy with families making the most of their free time and enjoying the summer holidays, so please come along for some friendly competitions. There’s a gold medal for anyone who takes part in three different sessions.”
