PizzaExpress brings two of its most iconic flavours together.
There are duos, and then there are iconic duos, the latest on everyone’s lips being PizzaExpress’ brand-new American Hot Dough Balls – in restaurants now as part of its new Autumn menu.
Inspired by the nation’s favourite pizza, PizzaExpress’ American Hot Dough Balls are hotter than the peppers in Nonna’s kitchen – loaded with rich Italian tomato sauce and paprika-spiced sausage, topped with hot green peppers and flavourful Gran Milano cheese – a taste explosion that brings two of the brand’s most popular menu items together for the very first time.

Along with this iconic innovation, PizzaExpress’ new Autumn menu features a wide range of new dishes for fans, inspired by the tastes of Italian-America; for the meat-lover, the brand has launched its new Meatball Italiano Romana – a delicious combination of flavoursome beef meatballs, spicy beef, tomato, garlic, mozzarella and red onion, finished with a dash of chilli oil and Gran Milano cheese on a crispy Romana base. It’s pizza, it’s meatballs. That’s Amore!
The Autumn menu will also see the arrival of an irresistible Ultimate Chocolate Fudge Cake, which is inspired by the brand’s iconic black and white striped t-shirts. The new dessert combines six indulgent layers of chocolate sponge with heavenly buttercream and rich, dark chocolate fudge icing. One slice, and you’ll be hooked!
But if that wasn’t enough to get your tastebuds tingling, PizzaExpress’ Autumn Menu also features:
• Mozzarella Sticks: A starter you won’t want to share, with melting mozzarella coated in crisp, golden breadcrumbs, served with a tangy Italian tomato dip and a drizzle of sweet hot honey.
• Anchovy Bruschetta: Inspired by PizzaExpress’ founder’s love of anchovies, this starter features the brand’s golden signature dough with lashings of garlic butter, topped with fresh tomato, capers, red onion, parsley and anchovies.
• Bruno Romana: Created by one of the brand’s very own Pizzaiolos and featuring creamy blue cheese, red onion chutney, tomato and mozzarella, all topped with fresh rocket, Parma ham and Gran Milano cheese.
• Margherita Pomodoro Pesto Romana: An elevated take on a classic featuring creamy mozzarella, baby plum tomatoes, basil & pine kernel pesto and garlic oil.
• Caprese Salad: An Italian classic of creamy mozzarella, vine tomatoes, plenty of basil and balsamic drizzle.
• Mac & Cheese: A comforting classic of macaroni baked in a rich three cheese sauce with mozzarella, cheddar, Gran Milano cheese, garlic oil and topped with crisp breadcrumbs. Also available with an ‘Nduja upgrade.
• Al Forno Spicy Pollo & Chorizo: Perfect for the Autumn months, this dish brings together succulent chicken, spicy chorizo, tomato, garlic and smoked chilli powder into one hearty pasta creation.
• Al Forno Chicken Parmigiana: Italian-American comfort food in a bowl with crispy, golden breaded chicken, with rich passata sauce, penne and Gran Milano cheese.
• Sticky Toffee Pudding: A luxuriously delicious date pudding, with pourings of sticky toffee sauce, and served with creamy vanilla gelato.
• A selection of new cocktails, including a take on the classic margarita with the Pomegranate Margarita, with notes of lime, blood orange and pomegranate, and its deliciously sweet, non-alcoholic counterpart, Pomegranate Sparkle, as well as a rich hazelnut Frangelico Espresso Martini.

The innovations don’t stop there: after more than 10 years of being Coeliac UK accredited and a commitment to making its menu as inclusive as possible, PizzaExpress will be welcoming a gluten free Romana base to its menu – marking the first time the brand’s famous crispy Romana Is available in a gluten free version.
