A newly refurbished convenience store has opened in Costessey, restoring the property back to its former use.
The Premier Stores shop is situated in a prime location at 2 Kabin Road, New Costessey, and was previously home to NANSA Charity Shop and The Plug & Socket. Prior to this it was a popular convenience store and the shop’s new owner, Sunil Kumar, is delighted to be bringing back a piece of local history.
Once a much-loved fixture in the community, the original Kabin Road shop closed its doors several years ago. When the property went up for sale, the opportunity arose for Sunil to revitalise this space. After conducting thorough surveys and receiving a highly favourable CACI report, it was clear that the site held great potential to serve the local neighbourhood once again.
The transformation of the shop was no small task. Nearly three months of work were invested in completely stripping down the old premises and creating a modern, inviting space. Every detail of the new shop has been carefully considered, blending the practicality of a local convenience store with the welcoming atmosphere of a community hub.
A key element of the store’s success comes from its association with the prestigious Premier Group. Their support, from the very inception of the project to the provision of exclusive offers, has been instrumental in ensuring a strong start.
The store now boasts competitive prices that set it apart from other local retailers, offering exceptional value for money.. In addition to national brands, customers will also be able to enjoy products from local suppliers, including fresh vegetables and the finest Broadland ham, ensuring a uniquely local shopping experience. Customers can also enjoy its state-of-the-art Beer Cave, providing an extensive array of chilled alcoholic beverages.
Not only is the reopening of the store a win for customers, but it has also created four new jobs for local residents, reinforcing the commitment to the economic and social growth of the area.
Sunil, who has proudly served the community as a sub postmaster for over fifteen years at Stafford Stores & Post Office on Upper Stafford Avenue, located opposite Costessey Primary School, has been a driving force behind the reopening. His dedication to providing excellent service has been a constant in the neighbourhood, and his involvement in expanding to this new location reflects his deep commitment to the local area
“Kabin Road Store stands ready to welcome both loyal customers and new visitors. We are very excited to open this new store and to continue providing the local community with exceptionally good products and services,” explains Sunil.
