The Academy of Robotics, headquartered in Neatishead, Norfolk, has unveiled the Kar-go Road-BOT, a semi-autonomous, fully electric vehicle designed for everyday drivers.
Priced from £26,000, the two-seater is built entirely in the UK, blending advanced AI technology with manual controls. Compact and eco-friendly, it offers a range of 100 miles per charge and features innovations such as pothole avoidance, making it ideal for urban and suburban journeys.
“We are thrilled to announce that our street-legal vehicles are now ready for production.”
With manufacturing taking place at its Norfolk facility, the Road-BOT has been rigorously tested and meets the highest safety standards. Founder and CEO William Sachiti described the launch as the result of seven years of hard work by a team of UK engineers. “After nearly two years of building a robust supply chain and enhancing our Norfolk headquarters to enable in-house manufacturing, we are thrilled to announce that our street-legal vehicles are now ready for production. With the guidance and support of the Driver Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA), this vision has become a reality. The first vehicles are expected to be delivered this year, with early adopters able to order the car today” he said.
The Kar-go Road-BOT marks a significant step for the company, which previously focused on autonomous delivery vehicles. The new model brings premium, accessible electric transport to consumers, with orders now open and the first deliveries expected later this year. For more information, visit kar-go.co.uk.
