Cromer Crab & Lobster Festival celebrates this year with the theme of a nautical Chest, these form this year’s art trail, running from April through to the Grand Auction on Sunday 31st August at the pier forecourt.
The start of the festival entertainment begins on Friday 16th May, with the opening Evening Concert at 7.30pm.
A family variety show hosted at the Cromer Pier Pavilion Theatre, hosted by Ben Langley and featuring the talented Dale Bullimore, Live & Let’s Dance school and the Pot of Gold Shanty Crew.

Celebrations continue on Saturday 17th & 18th at Evington Lawns, NR27 9HT, located at the centre of Cromer, which is host to a charming celebration of Cromer’s rich heritage. From 10am to 4pm both days with live music from 5pm on Sunday night. This is a free, family-friendly weekend, with a variety of live music & entertainment, seafood cookery demonstrations, stalls, refreshments and much more.
The Festival ends with a family day of stalls, crabbing and the grand treasure chest auction being held at the pier forecourt on Sunday 31st August.
59 local businesses have purchased wooden chests that have been, loving made and crafted from upcycled materials by the Cromer charity – About with Friends.
About with Friends partnered with the Cromer Crab & Lobster Festival from the start, back in 2012. This allows their members the opportunity to use their skills and at the same time learn new ones and is a great way for them to be at the very heart of this fantastic community event.
Each business is encouraged to decorate their treasure chest, and in the past both staff, customers and local artists have assisted in creating wonderful works of art.
Throughout the last 13 years the Art Trail themes have ranged from, portholes, ships wheels, lamps, boats and beach deck chairs – just to mention a few.
New for this year we ask you to vote for your favourite treasure chest, details on how to do this are on display within each of the supporting businesses and these can be found within this year’s art trail leaflet and on our social platforms or via cromercrabandlobsterfestival.co.uk Winners will be announced at the Grand Auction on 31st August – please help share your support.
The Crab & Lobster Festival is a non-profit organisation run by volunteers that raises thousands of pounds for lots of local schemes and other charitable organisations within Cromer.
