A free public event will be held in Costessey this August to commemorate the end of the Second World War, with a special talk by local writer Greg Powles.
Greg will share the moving story of his grandfather’s experience as a Far East Prisoner of War (FEPOW), reading powerful extracts from his recent show that brings to life the hardships and resilience of those who endured captivity.
The event takes place on Tuesday 19th August, from 11.00am to 12.30pm at The Costessey Centre, Longwater Lane, and is open to all.
In addition, a free VE Day-themed exhibition will be on display in the Gallery at The Costessey Centre from 19th to 22nd August, offering visitors a chance to learn more about this important part of history.
All are welcome to attend both the talk and the exhibition.
