Diane Danzebrink, one of the UK’s leading campaigners for change in menopause education and awareness, has been hosting pop-up events in Norwich city centre and will next be at one of the city’s biggest retailers.
Diane and the Menopause Support stand will be located at John Lewis on Thursday 28 March, located at The Balcony, 10am and 3pm.
The pop-up information event will give members of the public the rare chance to talk to Diane in person and ask questions about how to access better information about managing the menopause.
Diane Danzebrink is a qualified personal therapist, and wellbeing consultant with professional nurse training in menopause. She is also the founder of not-for-profit organisation Menopause Support and the UK’s #MakeMenopauseMatter campaign. Now living in Norfolk, she is on a mission to ensure better quality information about menopause can be accessed by anyone who needs it and is keen to support women living in the local area.
Visitors can pick up a copy of her free ‘Understanding Menopause’ booklet; a factual, evidence-based resource that is endorsed by the British Menopause Society.
Regularly appearing in the national press and asked to comment on issues relating to menopause (with appearances on ITV’s This Morning, Sky News, BBC Breakfast and Loose Women), Norwich women, their friends, partners, and family members, now have the chance to ask Di questions face to face.
Diane comments: “Thank you to John Lewis for lending us floor space in their store so we can take Menopause Support and the #MakeMenopauseMatter campaign out into Norwich, helping more people to get better informed about menopause and how to get support. Anyone can visit our stand to ask questions about perimenopause, menopause and the wide variety of physical and mental challenges this stage in life brings. And find out more about our campaign to Make Menopause Matter in healthcare, education and in the workplace.”
“We’ll be talking openly about menopause as we aim to shed the stigma about having conversations about the menopause and the impact it can have on women and the people around them. If you want to access better information to support yourself, a friend, a relative or to understand more about this phase of life, please come and find us.”
Diane adds; “Approximately 1 in 10 women leave the workplace due to menopause symptoms and, in our Facebook support group of more than 34,500 people, we hear daily, firsthand accounts from women whose lives, relationships and families are imploding due to the hormonal changes that occur during this stage in life. Despite this, GPs and practice nurses still do not receive mandatory menopause training and there is still no Government funded public health campaign for menopause. It is not acceptable that women must struggle during this period of their life without access to specialist medical support and information. We are here to change that.”
