Just when you think things can’t get any better on the Norwich Foodie scene, food life throws us some surprises.
Tatlers has opened up its doors again on Tombland with a new chef owner (who remembers Femi’s from King’s Street?)
The Last Wine Bar is due to open in February with a new fit out and a new father and son team, down St Georges Street.
Slice was a new edition late last year with fresh dough pizza slices only £4 at lunchtimes – find them down Bridewell Alley, they are the same people as Bun X at Micawbers.
Bare Food Deli down St Benedicts Street recently opened its doors selling Norfolk produce, plus they have a little seating area where you can enjoy freshly made bakes and toasted creations.
The Beer Hatch moved into its own premises last year, too, on Wensum Street next to Ribs of Beef.
We also welcomed three new cafes – your homework is to find them!
I’ve been asked to host the Epic Foodie Festival which is being held at Epic Studios on Good Friday, March 29th starting at midday. There’ll be street food vans inside, Norfolk produce stalls, the chilli championship, a cookery demo stage and lots of kids activities like brownie Easter eggs. Save the date and pre order your tickets from Epic.
I’m also looking forward to Foodies Festival in the summer at Earlham Park, where I’ll be hosting the cookery stage on the Friday.
Last of all if you have children take them to Cosmic Jo’s on Bedford Street, it’s a comic-con toy shop with a cafe selling toasties for £4 and freshly made pancake stacks along with milkshakes and slushies.
