The last few months have seen some tasty new restaurants coming to Norwich.
Dick’s replaced Frank’s Bar on Bedford Street, offering cocktail, coffees and sharing plates. The Steam Packet on Crown Road just off Cattle Market Street is a pub now serving classics excellently done. The Weavers pub makes up a trio of food places in the city run by the Brick Pizza boys.
The Bun Exchange is due to have its own home coming very soon while Bubba Kitchen will go into the old Fire Izakaya (previously White Lion Cafe). Rooftop Gardens have a new head chef, I’ve heard good things. Al Dente moved to the Trafford Arms as Adi’s Kitchen.
Wright’s, a toasted sarnie coffee shop from Bury has settled in nicely on the corner of London Street, while around the corner on London Street is the new sister of Benolis – Bar Cerdita – a fine dining quality tapas bar who’s patatas bravas are another level. Norwich Market has a new stall – The Chocolate Bar Baker – who offers shakes and cheesecake drowned in chocolate sauce along with other dessert goodies.
Norwich Cocktail Week returns – bigger and better than ever!
What everyone should be excited about is Norwich Cocktail Week, running 13th – 22nd October with nearly fifty bars offering a bespoke cocktail for no more than £7.50. Thirty bars have registered for the trail and there’s an open invite to the cocktail exhibition and championships – with tasters, happy hour all night, demos, tasters and the cocktail championships.
Come down to the Bowling House (1st floor), Dereham Road on Monday 16th October – it all starts at 5pm! Limited parking across the road and only 10 minutes walk from the city centre.
